~ ~ The Battles ~ ~

SSU has been host to a wide variety of Chat Room RPs, or Battles, originally designed by Dark Paladin in Final Fantasy Battle. These battles take people who normally chat in SSU, along with some other people who sign up, and SSU becomes the front for a great online RPG for a handful of hours at a time. Since the advent of FFB there have been a number of roleplays in SSU and other SSUers are still creating more! They are, in no semblance of chronological or alphabetical order...

~ Final Fantasy Battle ~ Created by DP ~ The first and arguably the longest chat room battle in SSU history! FFB takes place all around the separate Final Fantasy worlds with original characters and old characters from every game. Now in its fourth real incarnation, hosted by Army, this battle lives on, and undoubtedly always will.

~ Jimago Battle ~ Created by Randofu ~ The second chat room battle in SSU history, once revived but long since dead again. Describing the plot and characters would take an incredible amount of time and space. Let's just leave it by saying that almost anything could happen, usually did, and anything went!

~ Slayers Battle ~ Created by Darrow ~ One of the greatest anime series ever created brought to life in SSU! Huge acts of carnage, incredible plots, and very memorable characters make this battle easily come to life! Bring it back, Darrow!

~ Ronin Warriors Battle ~ Created by Darrow ~ When Cartoon Network finally added something new to the line-up, you knew new ideas would be formulating! This roleplay featured the original Ronin, as well as the Dark Warlords, and even a few new mysterious armors against the forces of Tulpa! Deceased.

~ Lord of the Rings Battle ~ Created by Randofu ~ Originally created by Randofu, and later revived by Jester, this roleplay was loosely based on Tolkien's LotR trilogy, combined with several D&D elements. Legends brutally murdered it.

~ Castlevania Battle ~ Created by Aaron ~ While the debate over whether or not Symphony of the Night truly was an RPG or not still rages on, Castlevania takes on a new form. If you ever enjoyed Castlevania in the past then you should not pass up this battle! Deceased.

~ Fantasy and Anime Tournament ~ Created by Sraphim ~ FAT was something completely different than many of the other battles and was very intriguing as well. Any character from any RPG or anime could join together on a quest in a different world entirely with its own storyline! Perhaps one day this battle will return.

~ Greek Myth RPG ~ Created by Athena ~ Based around characters and events from almost any Greek myth imaginable, this battle was different than many of the others in its own right! Didn't last long, though.

~ Tenchi Muyo Roleplay ~ Created by Sraphim ~ Considering the popularity of the Tenchi Muyo themed sessions in FAT this was certainly a great idea. Now you can literally take control of the insanity that ensues in the Masaki household and have fun with Tenchi's life, as difficult, strange, embarrassing, and as harrowing as it already is. Battles, comedy, and romance galore! Also, not surprisingly, deceased.

~ Breath of Fire Battle ~ Created by Aaron ~ This roleplay brought together everything you know and love about the BoF series, with a few new things, too! Sadly, it was quite short-lived. (Like most all of Aaron's battles! *cough cough*)

~ Evil Battle ~ Created by Soul ~ Even shorter-lived than most of our battles, Evil Battle was created by Soul as sort of a substitue for FFB during the lull between incarnations. The idea was to have the players act out the roles of villains rather than heroes, and this was a rather enjoyable concept for the few sessions that were held. Sadly, this battle never really received much development. It would be interesting to see again, someday...

~ Pokémon Battle ~ Created by Aaron ~ As the name implies, this was based on the anime series Pokémon! A group of poketrainers traversing the land, fighting battles, fending off Team Rocket, and collecting badges and more pokémon along the way! Deceased? You bet.

~ Star Ocean Battle ~ Created by Aaron ~ An exciting battle, dedicated to a game with incredible replay value, Star Ocean 2. A new evil has emerged, and it's up to the old cast to save Expel! Not only kicked the bucket, but scored a field goal as well. Deaaaaad.

~ Seiken Densetsu Battle ~ Created by Darrow ~ Remember Secret of Mana? Do you remember how amazing that game was? Welcome to the SSU version, filled with all of the great aspects of Seiken Densetsu 3, a great deal of original story by Darrow, and a bit of Seiken Densetsu 2 all tossed together to make a very popular, very successful and epic battle, easily the most involved in SSU history. SDB was also the first battle to be actively logged to any extent, with years' worth of sessions preserved. But all good things come to an end, and so too did SDB.

~ Advanced Dungeons & Dragons ~ Hosted by Randofu ~ Not a battle in our traditional sense, SSU has nonetheless had a campaign of D&D in the past. Probably including the largest number of players since FFB, it was a convoluted mess at first. This was due primarily to the fact the majority of its participants were unfamiliar with the rules and that D&D is generally a pen and paper roleplay rather than a text one. It was lacking a sense of real time, but was nonetheless a great deal of fun, though short-lived. There may be other campaigns in the future, however...
